The title pretty much says it all. I'm wanting a way to make 'heavy' loads in my ruger .45 Colt a bit more bearable. I don't mind recoil when practicing or plinking or when hunting, but during load development (from the bench) I've found that I can hold the gun properly and recoil begins to hurt, or I can hold it in a death grip and group sizes begin to open up.

Oct 25, 2010·For the Dan Wesson if you use the heavy barrel shroud it would help even more. You should be able to rapid fire the pistol with only 1 inch rise on the barrel, one handed. I love shooting my Mod. 29-8 3/8" barrel full 240 gr magnums. Almost no recoil at steel targets out to 150 yards.
